Secret Squirrel for BrewDog from Crompton
- Published: Tuesday, 25 November 2014 07:29
The modern reincarnation of the classic early 1900 “squirrel cage” lamp has recently become very popular for use in both domestic and commercial projects including bars, hotels and other venues where the illumination can be used to make a statement.
BrewDog based in Ellon, Aberdeenshire was started in 2007 by James Watt and Martin Dickie who wanted to create a fresh approach to beer and were bored with industrially brewed lagers and ales that dominated the UK. They initially brewed tiny batches and filled bottles by hand and sold their beers to local markets but since opening their first bar in Aberdeen in 2010 the company has gone from strength to strength. BrewDog currently has 4 bars in Europe and 18 bars in the UK with more openings planned for 2015.
LightBulbs Direct has worked closely with BrewDog since the first bar opening in 2010, as Matt Corden at BrewDog explains, “We are extremely happy with the service from LightBulbs Direct. They are always on hand to offer us advice should we have any lighting issues, they supply good quality light sources from Crompton Lamps and more importantly offer good value for money”.
The 60W lamps have a modern renaissance style and feature hand-wound filaments in the shape of a cage inside the lamp which is visible. Unlike the original, now obsolete, lamps this modern version uses a special coiled filament and modern construction to increase the rated lamp life and is also available with a dimmable option.
The Antique Decorative range of lamps from Crompton offers lamps from 25W to 100W and includes a variety of shapes and sizes. All of the specifications claimed on Crompton’s products are matched by genuine product performance and are available from stock with competitive pricing.
