Now there’s a Base LED junior – a smaller version of Thorn’s halogen and compact fluorescent lamp replacement downlights. Introduced less than two years ago, Base LED was acclaimed for its exceptional efficiency, longevity and superior colour quality.
The new downlight is available in two versions, one for high performance (650 lm/11.5W) and one with a deeper recessed lit surface for added comfort (600 lm/11.5W). Both utilise Cree's "True White"™ technology to deliver high quality light (3000 K) with outstanding, stable colour rendition (Ra 90). There’s nothing junior about its performance!
Not only do the efficient LEDs allow savings in running costs over the conventional 50W MR16 halogen lamps commonly used for many commercial and residential applications, but lasting 50,000 hours frequency in re-lamping is almost eliminated, thus saving time and money on maintenance charges.
Even further energy savings are possible by using a comprehensive choice of trailing edge dimmers.
Overall dimensions of these downlights are approximately 79 mm high x 102 mm diameter aperture for the 650 lm size and 100 mm high and 110 mm diameter aperture for the 600 lm size - neat enough to extend applications to numerous hospitality and retail areas.
