A new LED downlight - delivering 1,000 lumens – has been added to Thorn’s Base LED range. Like its 650 lumen counterpart, the Base LED 1000 embodies Cree XLamp® LEDs with TrueWhite™ Technology for superior colour quality, efficiency and longevity, but adds extra lighting control and emergency features.
Both have the same 165mm aperture. Base LED 1000 delivers ‘incandescent-like’ warm white (2700K) or neutral white (3500K) light, with a high colour rendering value (Ra) of over 92, maintained over the life of the product (50,000 hours).
At 18W (56 luminaire lm/W) the downlight consumes a quarter the energy of a 75W QPAR halogen fitting while delivering comparable light output. A 1 x 26W compact fluorescent downlight uses about 50 per cent more power than the Base LED to achieve the same light level.
In addition to superior colour and efficiency, there are three lighting control settings (DALI, SwitchDIM and CorridorFUNCTION), three decorative bezel rings for areas that require greater glare control and emergency lighting options for central battery systems.
The splash proof IP44 (from below) rating extends applications to bathrooms, kitchens or toilet facilities.
